So here’s a quick dumb thing I did.
Recently it was brought to my attention that there is a subreddit devoted to creating fake album covers. A friend sent it my way knowing that I would enjoy it and suggested that I take a stab at making one of my own. Well, unfortunately I do not possess an ounce of artistic talent, but I do like words. So, instead of redoing the album cover, I made a pass at changing the album names. My method was to block the actual name with my hands like a toddler and retitle the album as something that, to me, best fit the cover. This seemed appropriate since the standard format is a cover that best fits the title. Here’s what I messed with and my results.
Lovetap!
Whilst staring down my copy of Lovetap!, I went through many possible titles: synonyms for “hit” (which kept getting me back to lovetap), aggressive things children say to their siblings, and a few very weak tennis ball jokes. After a couple of hours of mindlessly staring in the album’s direction, I was finally inspired by a classic line from Boy Meets World.
Currents
This was actually the first one I came up with, and what I believe to be my best work. There’s not much to explain here, it’s pretty visual. I was quite pleased with myself.
Discovering the Waterfront
This one was kind of a pain in the ass, but not because of the title I landed on. No, it was the font that troubled me here. Damn Shel Silverstein and the various things named after him for barring me from finding the information I needed. In the end, I just decided to wing it and get as close as possible. As for my new title, I thought that the dramatic nature of the cover made my immature retitle pretty funny. I have to laugh at my own jokes. No one else will.
That is all. Hope y'all enjoyed.
