OODR: Care for Heroes Dog Wash

Palm Beach County is full of awesome non-profits who do exceptional charity work. A plethora of organizations take the time to devote themselves to so many incredibly causes, and the citizens and businesses do their best to support these causes. One such organization, Operation Care for Heroes in the Jupiter/Tequesta area, will be hosting an event at the Square Grouper next Saturday, May 7th, in support of the troops.

Square Grouper sits right along the Jupiter inlet, and is an awesome place to have lunch and watch the boats go by. If you have ever been to the Square Grouper, you have probably noticed the little beach area by the dock. Well, on May 7 from 9 AM - 11 AM this beach will be opened for dogs to come and enjoy the warm inlet waters. Dog Wash for Heroes will cost $10 per human and per dog and is the only day of the entire year when dogs are allowed to enter the Square Grouper. This includes your dog being allowed to swim, a dog wash, a dog bandana, and a drink coupon for the owner.

There are some rules to follow: There can only be one dog per person, and they must be at least 4 months old. Dogs are required to have a sturdy leash (non-retractable), a collar, and an ID tag. The dog’s handler must control and pick up after the dog. Aggressive dogs will not be allowed and all dogs must leave by 11 AM.

The proceeds from this awesome event will go to Operation Care for Heroes, who support the troops by sending care packages to soldiers and military canines. OCFH asks that each attendee bring a new Kong toy that they will then send to the military dogs.

Last, but certainly not least, One Ocean Drive’s team of realtors will be at the Square Grouper during the event in order to support the troops. We will have free frisbees for your furry friends, so come say hi and feel free to bring your pooches by our Clemons St. office, conveniently located right next door to Square Grouper!

This event is going to be awesome, so whether you’re a dog-owner or just a dog-lover be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday May 7. See you there!
